We're meeting friends at Magen's Point since this is where their timeshare is, and so we traded in our timeshare for the only available unit at Magen's Point, which was Tropic Leisure Club - I've read some absolutely wretched things about it on tripadvisor - has anyone stayed their lately? Is it really that nasty and should I plan on just doing a lot of drinking??? Appreciate any insight.

I used to be the Sales Manager there, so I know it well. Magens Point Resort has 2 sections, and they are trying to build a thrid. The Tropic Leisure Club is the section that uses converted hotel rooms as their studio timeshare units. VERY small. They only sleep 3, as the couch that folds out is only a one person sleeper...it's that small. The mini kitchen is MINI. Small fridge, 2 burner stovetop, microwave, coffee pot. They either face North or West, depending on room number. The units by the laundry that face North aren't being fully used, as there was a fire that destroyed several rooms and they are in the process of renovating that section. I'm sure that this is slowing down the 3rd section's being built. Whenever I would sell one of these units, I would always stress the small amount of time that they would actually be IN the room...just for sleep, right?!? The rest of the time you'll be out enjoying the trip, so how much room do ya need? I also sold them as units that people would use for RCI exchange purposes more than using it here. They're livable, but you won't be raving about the place to everyone back home. And remember....rum is only $3 a bottle at K-Mart! Haha! Now the restaurant, INDiGO, is FANTASTIC!! You'll want to eat there a bunch! The food is awesome and the prices are great! One of my favs. But, then again, Kirsty and Ryan (owners of the restaurant) have nothing to do with the resort and vice versa.... You're gonna have a great trip, anyway, so don't sweat it. Jimmy Loveland's "Welcome to St. Thomas" island tour and sail on Sunday is a great deal and WELL worth the $50. It includes an island tour, lunch, a half-day sail, snorkel gear, open bar...it's a hoot!
