We got back last weekend from STT, took a week to get caught up at work. The weather was wonderful and the beaches were great. A new adventure for us was to visit Waterlemon on our day trip to STJ. What a great experience, we snorkeled over a green sea turtle for a while then swam around the sand bar to find no less than 50 beautiful starfish. It was incredible. It was certainly worth the hike and swim to get out there.

We stayed at BlueBeard's Castle. It's getting cleaner, and there appears to a good effort to keep up on maintenance. Staff was very polite and very helpful. Security was always walking the grounds. Kids swam in the pool only a few times, we were too busy trying to hit a new beach every day.

I took my daughter, age 10, for her first scuba lesson at Coki. She loved it. The dive shop guys were very helpful and made the whole experience a treat. No experience or certifications were necessary.

Fat Turtle was a new restaurant for us, the meal was very good and the atmosphere was fantastic. Iggie's on Wednesday night had good entertainment, the kids loved all the dancing, limbo, and music. North Drop, near Hull Bay, has very good food and offers a nice variety, ribs, steak, seafood, a very nice few when dining on the deck.

The kids didn't get sun burned, the cell phone didn't ring too often, we had a great vacation.

Can't wait til next year.

Thanks for the report - glad you had a great time. Waterlemon is our #1 snorkel stop - beautiful and dependable for seeing sea creatures.

Hey Rusty,
Loved hearing about your trip and Loved having dinner with you at North Drop! 🙂

For those that have asked about Fat Turtle, it is located at yacht Haven Grande near Wendy's or at the head of the Cruise ship dock! There is a new thread on Yacht Haven Grande, ck it out! The place is wonderful!

Rusty, did you see the Grotto at Yacht Haven Grande? It is way cool! Hope you took the time to walk around!
Looking forward to seeing you next year!

We did not see the Grotto at Yacht Haven Grande. It was getting dark, so we didn't do much exploration. See, now we have to come back next year to see the Grotto. 🙂

Did you realize you first met Aurelia when she was 2, now she's 10. We will certainly be back again next year.

I was already checking the Sun Country Airlines Web site to see when they show their flight schedule for next year. (it's not up yet)

We will see you March 8th, 2008 about 3:30.

Lookin' forward to it as always! Yes, it's been fun watching your little girl grow up! All to soon to come...alot more changes! Hope she still feels about makeup then, that she does NOW! 🙂 Enjoy her as much as you can and keep up the good work on teaching her about cars, nothing better than a girl who can change her own oil, jump start, change her tires and even change her brakes (tho you don't need to change them as often as we do)! Have to admit tho, I like the old cars (my old 69 Super Cobra Jet Mustang)! Oh, those cars were soooo much easier to work on then what we have today! (ofcourse, I had the mustang in late 70's, early 80's, not 69. I was only 7 then)! I have to admit, I let Jeff service my car now! 🙂

Kim and I always laugh and joke when driving up and down the hills. We often ask what wears out first on the cars, a) the horn b) the brakes c) the transmission. You can also tell a car that has been on island for more than a year....All four corners have dents and scratches.

Hey, quick question for ya, Aurelia is always looking for the Peacocks, we use to see them on the way to Rockworks, where did they go?

We too just returned from St. Thomas. This was our first time there in March and completely enjoyed our time there. Yacht Haven is a great addition to the island and the food is wonderful. We also went on "On Deck Ocean Racing" for a morning "trip". The crew was great and the trip was fun even if it did rain. It was an interesting learning experience to see how a 65' racing yacht functions. Would take the trip again without a doubt. But don't forget to grab a quick bite to eat before hitting the waves.

Good advice on the eating thing Rick, for those who get sick is it wise to be prepared with some soda crackers as well!
Glad you enjoyed your trip!

I'm going to St. Thomas again (go there every year). I've been to St. John many times -- what is Waterele____? I've never hear of it.
