I'm trying to book a daysail on a sailboat in St. John for late June/early July. I've contacted Survivan, Long Distance, White Wing, and Bread on the Water. None of those boats are available in that time period. Does anyone have any other thoughts on a sailboat in the 30' to 50' range? I've gone out with Capt. Phil before, but would like to try something new. And, I prefer to avoid the catamaran party boats. Help!

You might try Peter Muilenberg and his boat Breath. We keep intending to go out with him, but haven't done so yet. I think spending time with him would be a wonderful experience. He's been on STJ for decades and built his boat on the island. Definitely not a party boat.

Went for a " Sunset-Sail" around Maho bay, with the Motoryacht Cinnamon Bay, last May.- I got engaged!!! It was wonderful. Captain Dan, and his wife, Donna made us all feel right at home. It was settling to see our favorite beaches from the water ,as we love them from ashore.- a different view from the only other time we get to see STJ from the water;- when we arrive from the ferry...Going to Jost this year, for the first time, with MYCB, and just can't wait.
Short story gone long, I'm staying with Captain Dan.

I would contact Larry and Betty Fries on Forever Young. Good people I have sailed with them several times. They stay in business a little later into summer than some of the other boats. 340-690-8026

Tell them Jay sent you.

Try Captain Jake on Morning Star. I worked on the boat briefly and its an excellent tour and Jake is a riot.

Hiya Jim,
I plan on doing the sunset sail on the m/y Cinnamon Bay too. Glad to see someone on the board mention Cap'n Dan and that you enjoyed cruising with him. You'll have to let us know how the Jost trip went.

kathyshere- We gotta talk! Our party arrives this saturday, the 19th, and I would like to get an opinion about a gift for Capt. Dan and his bride, Donna. You can find Amy and myself on his websites' photo album, followed by several other pic's from other charters... I recognize some folks in the photos, and would appreciate some insight , if you can.
I can't believe we'll be there at the end of the week. Is there a way to send messages ' off the board'?
Thanks-
MJ

Hey Jim,

Lucky ducks gonna be in "paradise" this Saturday8-)

I visited the website and found you and Amy...GREAT idea to propose @ sunset in the USVI!! Have ya set a date yet?

As far as a gift...I'm clueless. A gift certificate to a nice restaurant is always good. Not sure how much you want to spend, etc.

I think the "PM" next to our names is for pvt msg...if ya want try it and we can discuss the gift further.

Take care,
Kathy

Hey, Kathy! No date set yet. Upon looking through MYCBs' photo album, I saw that another family from our area here in Jersey enjoyed their services, as well. They own/operate a HUGE farm-market just 5 miles from where I live. Yesterday I went over and introduced myself to one of the owners and we talked at length about our common experiences, and how fond we are of STJ, as well as Capt. Dan & co. I picked up a nice baked good, and a stuffed animal, of sorts for Dan & his wife. I hope he enjoys the sentiment , and doesn't find it corny! 4 days to go! My best-

Jen - Good question! I meant the Cloud 9 sailing charter. He does daysails from St. John to JVD. Thanks.

Ok - I figured you weren't randomly asking about villas in your sailing thread, but I wanted to check. I'm sorry I can't help you with your question.
