Can anyone tell me how I could apply for a beach life guarding job in the Virgin Islands?

I'm sure there must be some at private resorts, but I've never seen a life guard at any beach in the USVI. Beach attendants, but no life guards.

Magens Bay on STT has lifeguards. You could check with the Magens Bay Authority at 340-777-6300 but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Besides Magens, Lindquist sometimes has guards (same crew seems to toggle between them)

The Magens Bay Authority manages both Smith Bay Park (Lindqvist) and Magens Bay so the contact would be the same for both.

I don't think you will find any jobs for life guards down here.

My manager told me he saw lifeguards when he was on vacation at St. Thomas. He figured they might also get free housing since its a national park?? I just thought it would be an awesome job, but this was the closest thing to any info I could find which was the first sign that it probably isn't going to happen.

The National Park system is St John, not St Thomas.

I doubt very much that free housing would be included. You would have to check with the National Park Service for any job openings. To the best of my knowledge only Trunk Bay on STJ has lifeguards. I don't think it's something that you could make a living at here.

All job within the VI National Park service are listed through the Federal Register in Washington, DC.

Trunk Bay is the only beach on STJ with Lifeguards and they do not get housing.

My plan was just to work for a summer, and with the info my manager gave me about free housing (which i guess he was wrong about), I figured I could get by. o well

Thank you for the info and ideas, maybe I'll get lucky.

Since the summer months are our slow season, "Working for the Summer" in the Caribbean usually is not an option. Working Thanksgiving to Easter is more likely.

First off - It is St. John, not St. Johns and YES Trunk Bay on STJ has lifeguards. Good Luck!

You might want to check with Maho Bay Campground. They have summer jobs with housing, although the work is more like scrubbing toilets, not sitting on the beach! 😉

Well the summer is my only option until I'm out of college. but if for some reason I don't have a job out of college, I will keep the Virgin Islands in the back of my mind. Maybe I'll look at other locations for next summer.
Thank's everyone for your help.
