As I have stated before, I will be getting married in St. Thomas while on a 10 day vacation. It will be on a Saturday about an hour before sunset in July. I was recommended to go to Bluebeard Beach due to it being a little bit quieter on a Saturday than Magens and Lindquist. Would you tend to agree or would you have any "hidden treasures"?

Bluebeard's Beach Club is a nice place for a wedding but so is the point at Sapphire Beach. I think Bluebeard's at that time of time would be a better choice. If you're looking for someone to do your ceremony try Island Wedding Services

Remember that the "no seeums" come out on the beach as the sun sets and they are nasty little biting critters!

I believe that I would choose one of the following:

Magens Bay is a quiet place and there is very little wind. If you get there early you will not have a problem.

Sapphire Beach is perhaps the most beautiful but it is windy out there. So your guests my not hear what is going on.

Linquest beach is very beautiful and is a little more protected from the wind.

No matter what beach you select it will be good.

Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. That would be my preference. In the Caribbean in general and including the USVI, July can be hot, humid, sticky, mosquito-y, no-seeum-y. Just get that into your head going into it and be prepared. Congratulations!

Hello sshelton25,

Magens Bay and Lindquist are both beautiful, great options and popular choices for a beach wedding. They are also popular for beach parties, family picnics and gatherings on Saturdays and Sundays. Some of these parties are larger and louder than others; primarily so if there is DJ. At Magens things start to wrap up in the late afternoon and the crowds start to thin out... also the weddings are usually on the left side (when facing the water) which in general is a less busy part of the beach. Not sure how late the weekend parties at Lindquist go.

When you mention Bluebeards Beach... you may be asking about Bluebeards Beach or Bluebeards Beachclub on Limetree Beach. Bluebeards Beach is a pretty beach, its where the Ritz Carlton's Timeshare property is located and there is a restaurant and bar just past the treeline. Could easily do the wedding and have reception right there. At Limetree Beach there is also a restaurant right there. Small beach, the weddings at Limetree are usually on the right side where rocks sort of create a little corner.

PS: Sunset in July is around 6:50pm.

I was married on Linquist last May in the morning, it was the most perfect place...very secluded and clean.

When planning a Sunset wedding, be sure to think about time for photos! We always plan the wedding an hour and a half before Sunset! Weekends are always busier on the beach due to us locals wanting our beach time. Gerie, who is on the forum stays at Blue Beard's Beach Club and is planning her wedding there. My question for her would be: does Bluebeard's have a same day turnaround for all guests like Magens Point does? If so, this would NOT be a good time to have a wedding! A lot of partiers hanging out and drinking! I have not seen Lindquist as being a busy beach when I have done Sunset weds, but remember this beach closes at 5 pm sharp! Have you decided on a coordinator yet? If so, they will also be able to answer most all of your questions!
