I have been pouring over webshots and photography sites and just wanted to ask the group's opinion. Our wedding is schedule with Anne Marie for August 3rd. We want to have a morning wedding (9 am). Anne Marie recommended Hawksnest and Cinnimon. This is our first trip to St. John. Thoughts?

You can't go wrong with either one. Hawksnest will be a shorter walk from the car and it is a smaller beach than Cinnamon but there is a beautiful area to the far left with black bolders against the white sand. Beautiful spot. Cinnamon has some really beautiful spots too. Like I said you can't go wrong with either one.

I would opt for Hawksnest as Cinnamon can be very windy on some days therefore whipping up the sand and it is a longer walk from the parking area, but both are beautiful and Ann Marie is wonderful, you can't go wrong with either so let her guide you - you will hqave a wonderful day.

We just got married a couple weeks ago at Hawksnest. Our wedding was at 9:45 am and this is the beach I would recommend. I honesty love Cinnamon and really wanted to have the wedding there but everyone said at that time of morning the lighting for pictures is better at Hawksnest. You can check out my trip report on the message board that includes a link to the pictures we took that morning. They really turned out beautiful. You will love Anne Marie, she is a little "new age" but she really did a wonderful job on the ceremony and made it really special. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Thanks! I appreciate your responses very much. I looked at your photos, HUB....beautiful! !!! Congratulations to you as well! We've booked our villa, Anne Marie is reserved, the beach is now decided...... and now tons of decisions to be made about our trip. This forum is so much help. Thank you all for sharing your trip reports and helpful hints. This will be the first of many trips to St John for us and we want to make it one to remember forever.

Jo

Congrats on your upcoming wedding. My husband and I made our first trip to St. John this past Feb. and we were married on Cinnamon, we chose this particular beach because although a longer walk to the beach we had to think of parking for others. The other reason we chose Cinnamon is because our villa was way over on the other side of the island in Coral Bay and we had to drive to the site and we would of been a complete mass of wrinkles if we dressed at the villa and drove over. Cinnamon has changing facilities and it worked out great for us. Hubby changed and took all our stuff down to the wedding site, I finished dressing and walked to the beach without him seeing me before the ceremony. We looked at all beaches but chose Cinnamon for the facilites for changing and we lucked out......Nobody on the beach except one other couple being married on the opposite end, no wind, beautiful blue ski and water. I'm sure your's will be just as amazing regardless of where you choose. If you have any questions feel free to pm me and I'll try to help out. We fell in love with St. John and are going to spend our 1st wedding annivarsary back there in just a few short weeks. Congrats and good luck!
