We are headed to St. John this May. We are looking for the best option for 10 people to take a day trip to BVI areas (financial and comfort). Any suggestions would be great!

340 - 775 - 7990 Stormy Petrel -- private charters for up to 12 people -- very comfortable vessel - top notch crew and well run Company - they also operate Pirates Penny.

If you go to the top of this page, click on "St John" and scroll down to "Daysails" you'll find several options for boats which can accommodate more than six people. Another option would be to take the public ferry. "Quick Links" top right this page will show you the schedules and rates and many people enjoy a ferry trip to Jost to enjoy the famous beach and watering holes!

We took the public ferry to Jost when we visited last Christmas (party of 8). It certainly wasn't as relaxing a trip as we anticipated. The ferry was late arriving in SJ and we had to stand in a long line to get our ticket. The ferry was also late getting back to SJ. Maybe ours was an isolated experience. It's certainly a cheaper way to get there but if we were to do it again I would look for other alternatives.

I hear you and completely understand your point. There is often a price to pay when using public transportation over private but the OP was looking for options so it seemed reasonable to offer the option which not everyone knows about until they ask. Many visitors do the ferry and have a most enjoyable day but no question that the private charter option is the way to go if the budget allows!

Bad Kitty is a multi passenger charter but very good and you see multiple destinations. With a group of 10 I would recommend a private charter as you will be able to set your itinerary and timeline and the cost will be about the same (in a few cases a little less).

Exit's suggestion is a great one

Google Born to Rumb, St John based inspected for up to 12 to BVI. Great boat with a good history. Stormy Petral and her sister ship would be a good option as well.
