having read about the various levels of quality in accomodations, I am wondering about the suitability of the BWCBR as a place to primarily sleep and shower between beaches! Clean? kept well?

I read Fodor's and Frommer's and both said the beach it not nice(that's what the Emerald Beach is for)- but for a cheap place to sleep and shower- it's adequate 🙂 I think that somewhere on these message boards other people said the same thing.

We stayed at the Best Western Emerald Beach, right next door, and I, personally, found it to much nicer than the Carib - of course, this is based on exterior observations - it would be worth the few extra $$$ even if it is just for showering and sleeping... at least IMHO.... Another source for opinions/reviews would be tripadvisor.com...(actually, if I were to stay on STT again I would opt for neither of these places, but stay closer to Red Hook...again, my personal opinion.) Hope you have a great trip 🙂

I stayed at both hotels and personally I would try to spend the extra $ on Emerald Beach. In between sleep and showers you may want to grab a bite to eat, dribk pina colada while your significant other showers, or maybe take a walk on the beach night or take a morning dip in the ocean. For all of these reasons and more go with BWEB if you can. PS- no beach at BWCB and don't let anyone tell you differently. A rocky "boat ramp" is not my idea of a beach. To be the devil's advocate, if the only way you can go to paradise is by staying at BWCB, then I would book it!

Ditto the recommendation for BW Emerald Beach. Much nicer, newer, beautiful beach in which all rooms face, decent food/drinks. I think you can get a $100/night rate or so on expedia.

Hi Jackson
While I can only post my stay at the Best Western Emerald. It does have a beautiful beach and the outside of the resort is nice but.. The room I was in was really dirty & the bed broke the first night & no I am not a large person, 105 pounds lol. I called front desk & they told me they would fix it in morning. I asked if they could change me to another room & was told no as they had no more rooms wrong>>> I went down & three people were asking if they had rooms & they did so I said why couldn't they give me the room since my bed was broken, had to speak to a manager & was changed, the new room was even dirtier than the first. Oh well, took a shower & hardly any water pressure & no hot water. So got up early to take another shower still no pressure & no hot water 4 am & no hot water? I talked to several other guests that was staying there & they said theyallhad the same problems that I was having. The walls are paper thin so you can hear your neighbors. I wouldn't stay in this place if I had to but if you are on a budget & can put up with some of the things I put up with then you will be fine. I am sure some found the resort great but this is how I found the resort to be & I am not that picky, just wanted a Clean room & hot water which I didn't get. I complained every day to desk about the issue of the room being cleaned better even when I got back from my business meeting room was still dirty. When down again talked to manager & took her up to room & even she said she wouldn't stay in the room either. Changed again with her in tow yet another room dirty. She said she was sorry. I had with it & told her forget it that it was my last day but I was going to tell my company that uses Best Western for booking what happen. I know Best Western is a good company but if they owned this one they should be a shame. But again you might like it. Just sharing my experience that I had with the resort so no bashing me ok people?
