Help!!! Does anyone know anything about this hotel??? We've seen horrible reviews from Trip Advisor. We're only staying for one night, but a few people mentioned that it is very dirty! We need a place releatively inexpensive and close to the airport, but safe and clean. Any recommendations would be tremendously appreciated!!!
(The other Best Western is booked that night)

Hello Syndney,

I had a friend that stayed there a couple years ago. It was ok, not spotless but not dirty either. The furnishings were older but doable. Was like a nice motel.

Thank you Islander. I appreciate your response. I'm thinking there or Malofie. Both are a good price. Do you recommend one over the other?
Thanks!

I will be staying there for one night - June 3 - before we head over to St. John the next morning. Will be there until June 11. If you can wait that long I'll be glad to give you a report.

Just came back a couple weeks ago from STT after we stayed at the Best Western Emerald Beach. It is right next door to BW Carib as well as the Island Beachcomber. Emerald Beach is the best choice of the three. I think it's about $150/night and literally 3 minutes from the airport. Great beach, and every single room is an ocean view. Very clean. Nice restaurant too.

To be honest, if it's only one night it shouldn't be that big of a deal as long as you have a decent room and a clean bed.

I stayed at the BW Emerald Beach (next door) and as far as regular stateside hotels go, it's a BW but better perks. Lindbergh (sp) Bay beach is fantastic and under rated for just playing around in for a day or two. It seemed when I was there during the low season that there were more locals hanging out than tourists.

Another thing, reviews can come from many different sources. If the reviewer is a world traveller and stays at many different 4-5 star resorts then of course a BW is going to get low reviews. BW's are designed to be more affordable. If you ask me...a guy from Indiana who just loves the tropics and doesn't care for the huge resorts, I loved the BW Emerald Beach, and although I haven't been to the Carib Beach next door, it looked nice enough to me. 🙂

Plus it's right next to the airport (be on the beach within 20-30 minutes after arrival) and it's only a day. 😉

Rude staff, no running water, need I say more. This hotel was the worst of the worst. The lady who works the night shift, needs to take a course in customer service,. She was totally rude. Kept me and my wife standing at the front desk for nearly 10 minutes before acknowledging us. When we got to our room. The water had been shut off in all the rooms and remained off for almost 24 hours. No shower, couldn't brush our teeth. Couldn't do a thing. What the hotel could tell us about the problem and when it would be resolved, absolutely nothing. Oh and their so called wireless internet, well that was off and on, so my wife nor I could get a good continuous signal on either of our laptops. Needless to say my wife and I checked out of this dump the very next day and wouldn't recommend this place to our worst enemy. If you want rude service, no running water, and poor amenities, stay here. If not pick any other place on the island. THE ABSOLUTE WORST TRUST ME, and I travel alot and have been all over and this is by far the worst!!!

We stopped for some Mexican at this hotel last year and I have to tell you, I thought it looked like a dump from the outside.

I would never stay there.

I would stay at the Mafolie, personally. LOVE the view - whether daytime or at night, the view is worth staying. Hotel is very basic - clean overall. It's been a short-stay option for my family for many years.

I have stayed there for 1 night and it is passable. I would suggest either Mafolie, Island View guest house or Green Iguana. Used to stay at beachcomber but prices went up dramatically last year.

How about the Crystal Palace? I know that their rates are great, I've seen it highly recommended by those that have stayed there and they do take one night stays. We have stayed at Emerald Beach many times and really like it there but I don't think I would stay at Carib Beach.
