St. John has become an annual summer vacation for my husband and me, and we couldn't love it more. I can't imagine a more perfect beach than the ones in St. John...Cinnamon, Maho, Hawksnest, and Honeymoon to name a few.

So my question is, what the are beaches like on Water Island? I've never been there but reading about it has peaked my interest. Are they worse, better, or about the same as the beaches on St. John?

Thanks in advance for any responses 🙂

IMHO, the beaches on STJ are nicer. Water Island is different and that experience is the reason for going. If you are looking for 'better' than Water Island might not be for you.

Then again, 'better' is all subjective anyway.

How is it different?

What makes the beaches in St. John so great to me is the amazingly clear blue water, beautiful white sand, and the fact that when you turn around, there isn't some nasty looking hotel or condo complex behind you (obviously this wouldn't be the case on Water Island, but I digress).

Thanks 🙂

Huh? What hotels and condos on Water Island? When you're on Water Island / Honeymoon Beach all you have are sailboats, Saba, Flat Rocks.....

On Water Island / Sprat Bay, on a clear day you see St. Croix and Buck Island (not St. Croix Buck) and open water to the south.

Maybe I misunderstood your comment?

I think TR's point was that there wouldn't be either of those things on STJ or Water Island...and that's a good thing!
