I had friends who stayed there a few years ago & while not fancy, it certainly fit their needs. They had one salesman who bugged them a lot to buy a timeshare but they finally got rid of them. Enjoy!

Hotrod,

I'm a timeshare owner at Bluebeard's Beach Club and I return every summer. I wouldn't miss my week on St. Thomas. The resort is a quiet, quaint, secluded kind of place. The rooms are fine. Some who are used to high-end resorts find it subpar and others, like me, think it's quite adequate and comfortable. The restaurant at the resort is rather pricy. However, lunches at the pool bar are very good. It's a good location to have a rental car, not close to very much. Try some of the many wonderful restaurants around the island.

The small beach is also very quiet. I've often been alone on it or in the water. The water has some very minor wave action, in contrast to many of the beaches with glass-like surfaces. There's enough to see snorkeling to keep it interesting. A resident baracuda will often follow you as you snorkel.

I've owned there for ten years, and the transformation of the resort in that time, from run down, hurricane damaged to its current state, is amazing. The Homeowners Association is on top of things and I believe the resort to be a constant work in progress, with many upgrades. They've just planted palm trees in the sand, which lost all its trees to hurricanes years ago.

I was the Sales Manager there a couple years ago, so I know it intimately. Gerie's depiction is dead-on. PinkCoconut and AnnNyPisces stayed there when they moved here (they used to post on the moving board quite a bit a couple months ago) and they were quite happy. And my Mom and Step-dad stayed there when they were just here and they were also pleased to be there. The rooms are very well done, with nice little mini-kitchens in them. Not that you are going to cook a huge dinner in there, or anythhing, but it works for cooking up a little breakfast, or re-eating some leftovers at midnight to sit on the balcony and look out over the beach and the ocean with the moonlight glistening on it. Decorated very nicely, too. The pool area is very welcoming. The grounds are still being worked on, but that's a continuous project. It sounds like Wyndham has some good plans for it's future, too. But I think you'll be pleased with your stay. The car rental was a good choice, too.
