Hey Blu,
Haven't heard a peep from you in a while now!!!!! What the heck are you up to? Are you secretly hiding somewhere in STT and don't want anyone to know?
We all love your input on the forum, you are missed! 🙂

Richmond,
I hope she isn't banging her head against the wall!!!

I know! She went shopping in some exotic place to find new bedding for the villa she is decorating! 🙂
Any other guesses?

Hey Sherri,

"Richmond,
I hope she isn't banging her head against the wall!!! "

that cracked me up!

I was wondering about her also, had a couple questions for her, but if she doesn't show up around here soon I'll PM her.

Now you're all going to make me worry about Blu.

If somebody knows her home phone, they should call and check on her.

I worry way too much!

I know that she lives in Philly, and she's pretty. Don't think that'll help find her #. But MacGyver could do it. Anyone have a Q-Tip and some Bubbalicious? Maybe we should just take out an ad in the Philidelphia Inquirer.

Bluwater would never bang her head against the wall. She's too much of a lady. She'd just grin and go into the kitchen and whip up a Veal sautee with a port reduction and braised fennel salad w/a lemon zest coulis. Or something like that.

I'm the one that gets frustrated and tells people to get their heads out of their behinds. Short and bitchy. I'm going to stay that way. 🙂

No Sherri..you're right. I need a vacation bad.

Work has been really hard. It is coming up on a 2 year anniversary that our future son in law was killed in a car accident, my mom is not doing well and i'm a total worrier with this trip coming up.

It almost seems like everytime we've taken a vacation, something has happen. I won't bore you with the details, but 3 weeks ago in Fort Lauderdale i got so sick I ended up in the hospital. I feel like I'm jinxed.

I've decided to back off and let the other 8 people going deal with the travel details, that way I don't feel like i have to be responsible for everything.

Still no sign of Blu? Guess I will try to contact her!

Connie,
You almost made me cry! Sounds like you are having a tough time. Hope you are feeling better. Try not to worry, think the island way, Don't worry, Be happy! It works, I promise! Sounds like a good idea to have others help in the planning and you can just sit back and relax a little bit! 🙂

Connie - sounds like you have planned and fretted over your share of trips so let the other travelers mind the details just this once. It may not be everything it would be if you gave it your own attention to detail - but it will BE - and you will go on your trip not feeling so stressed. I am an OC myself and I plan and plan and I worry that not all will have a good time. Over the years I have come to understand that I can only do what I can do and, after, that, it is up to all of the individuals to have a wonderful time - or not - their choice. I choose to have a good time and for those who choose not to - well, we just don't travel with them again - lol. Count down those days on the job - it's a wonderful feeling each day to get closer to take-off. I make a little post-it pad count-down deck for my husband to keep in his locker to count down the days until vacation. Each day when he hangs up his scrubs he pulls off another post-it and is one day closer. He loves that -

I hope everything works out and stays on an even keel on your home-front and that when you close the door on your way out to the airport you are able to leave your cares on the other side. I'll hold a good thought for you -

Hi Gang!! (waving blue arms)....

Sherri buzzed my phone and filled me in on some of the latest forum news.

Connie, please try to take it slowly and ease yourself into this vacation. You really deserve to. I hope whatever landed you in the hospital is well under control now.

Ok, so I am planning a last-minute visit to "The World" over Easter break (Disney) and going to Disney is a heck of a lot more complex than going to STT. So, I am spending spare time on another forum as a "newbie" poster and relying on lots of nice people to educate me in short order.

Here's what I've learned so far :
I'll depart my plane and board the ME to the BC resort, checking in with a CM and then heading to my first ADR....followed by using my "hoppers" to enter Epcot at the IG between France and England....using FPs to ride M : S, TT and Soarin, before to transfer to eEME at MK til 3am so I can FP on BTMRR, Splash, SM and IASW....but I can't miss Spectro and Fantasmic.

I have had my "touring plan" blessed by the Disney Commandos who follow the guidance of this guru called "Tour Guide Mike" (who used to be a VIP tour guide for WDW) who charged me $20 to use his software to calculate a schedule just for me based on my dates, sleep patterns, age, eating habits and resort location.
www.tourguidemike.com

Phew.....and I thought describing how to get from STT to Red Hook was a challenge!

So, that's what's been up with me. Hope everyone here is doing well!! And, on that other website, they DO NOT ask passport questions....so my head is in good shape.

I'll check in and be back here and engaged after next week's adventure.

I'm off to memorize the locations of the WDW bathrooms so our pit stops don't cut into our "tour plan" by more than the max alloted time 🙂

wow, Blu- I'm still trying to figure out all the gibberish with the abr.'s Ha! anyhow, the one and only time I did Disney with the boys (13 years ago actually) we just went to a travel agent, booked the trip and off we went. Didn't occur to me to find out where the bathrooms are before we get there. Sounds like they have this Disney thing down to a science now. Does anyone ever fly by the seat of their pants anymore? Think about that woman you met on the ferry going to Virgin Gorda! Now that's flying by the seat of your pants. Sometimes, I think that's the best way.

Have you ever taken your daughter there before? well, even if you have, its a WONDERFUL time. As much fun as it was with the kids tho, we always said we'd go back without them some day. Never got around to it, and now I'd like to do Universal.

Have a great time - make sure your daughter has an autograph book with her - I still like to look at all the character's autographs.:)

LOL!!! Isn't it something??? If you're "earning your ears" then I know where you've been hanging out 😉 I was over there before our trip last October. The acronyms are unbelievable! Thankfully there are numerous Disney fanatic forumites who will answer your questions practically before you've asked them.

BTW - BC is in a great location, FPs are the way to go, and Soarin' is awesome! 🙂

Blu

Are you sure you didn't land on the NASA forum sight by mistake? Sounds a lot like one of their press conferences.

Thanks everyone for your encouraging words. I have no handed everything over to my secretary, my husband. He can do it...i've done enough. Payment has been made on condo...had a meeting with other travelers about food. Snorkeling equipment bought.

I just have to relax on this vacation. It's not easy going with 8 other people at all, but I know I'm going to do what I want to do and leave the rest to "them".

Blu....I was worried about you...now I'm REALLY worried about you going to Disney...Wow what a trip, you need a vacation AFTER Disney....lol But, we do love Disney and we've had a ball there.

Don't forget to get over to Universal if you can. Tower of Terror and Rock n Roller coaster were so cool. Got off of them and went right back on again.

Enjoy

Connie, ToT and RnRC (see, I'm an acronym expert now) are at Disney's MGM Studios, not Universal. We'll be there!! I see that you're also a thrill ride fanatic.Good for you that you handed your STT travel plans over to your hubby. Relax.....release......renew. You'll feel better when you take your first dip into one of the bays....ahhhhhh!

Ccasebolt, yep, "earning my ears". It is an incredible and extremely active forum. I post a ? and have three pages of replies w/in the hour! Can't wait to "Soar"...that wasn't there on my last visit.

Chris, the way the Disney fanatics talk, it does seem like another planet. I'll have to be sure to keep visions of Trunk Bay in my head.....for sanity's sake.

MG, normally, I wouldn't plan like this. But, with every single hotel on WDW property being booked solid for that week (all 25k of them) and Disney forecasting record crowds, staying open til 3am, doubling up on parades, etc....I think I had better have some kind of a plan 🙂 I called and booked my room, no problem and non hint of the magnitude of the situation. As soon as I booked it, I tried to make a change and was told "sorry, you just booked the LAST room in our inventory.....there's nothing to change to!!"

Back to the VI....
I love MargyZ's post-it countdown calendar idea! Yes, as she said, leave the careers at the door when you're headed to the VI! Start to slow down a few days before.....easing into island time.

Blu - have you seen this yet? Gives you an idea what to expect crowd-wise at WDW.
Maybe a silly question given where you've been hanging out 🙂

Blu, don't forget to overlook one aspect..... parking!!!! If you are an AAA (no folks, not alcoholics anonymous)member, you have the option of using their parking spots right next to the handicap ones close to the gates. These passes are a premium on Ebay by the way.

We have been going to STT since 1993 BK (before kids) every year until we had the first one in 1998. Henceforth AK (after kids). We did the Disney thing in and spent all that money in '05 AK. The whole time I was there I was thinking of STT. Wifey eventually concluded the same thing. So since then it's been STT. Will be there again this July. SO if anyone wants to hook up, let me know.
