We just discovered this hotel *after* our trip a few weeks ago. Has anyone stayed here before? The rates for July are only $89 - $98 per night with a complimentary breakfast every morning.
Sounds like a great deal but would love to hear any comments good or bad before we decide to book it.

Hoping to return in July!

Its not a bad hotel, although I would not walk outside at night in that area. Its across the street from a shady nightclub. There is another great hotel around the corner called the Galleon House which is behind Herve and it has a nice pool and free breakfast and I believe thier rates are actually less than that. I think $75 a night. Plus you can walk into downtown down a well lit safer street. My in laws stayed there when they came to visit and they like Galleon alot.

Good luck.

We have stayed there waiting for our STJ villa or return flight. Would not suggest a long stay but for 1-2 nights it is a clean and well priced hotel.I agree with Local about not taking a walkabout at night but it is a good deal.
Galleon is also good as is Crystal Palace.

LOL, I must agree but then, like he said, we really don't need all the room of a condo. We are only there to shower and sleep so why put out so much money for unused space?
We did get a car and realized quickly that was the only way to go, so location isn't a big a deal. Besides, if we can find a place for under a thousand for the week, that's just more party funds for us...and more pain killers! We brought home a couple bottles of Pussers and turned some friends on to PK's. They loved them!

Hoping to return in July!

Ahhh....another place we found that would interest you....Lattitude 18......it's now my favorite place in STT for food & drink. Tuesday night is "open mike" night.

Also, try the sunset Sail on the "Fury"....340-643-7733...PKs & Food for $50.

As for lodging....you really want a SAFE and SECURE place! When someone tells you it's not safe after dark....believe them.

I agree with you completely on the safty issue and George is reading this forum as well. That is why I posted a question about Bunker Hill. Galleon sounds great but with my bum knee, the stairs might be a hindrance to me. That was the reason we decided not to stay at Pleasant Point.

Ohh I can't believe we are actually looking into a return so soon, I love it!

Hoping to return in July

Guess I'll go ahead and put in my two cents. We stayed there in January because of a late flight into STT. I was looking for something affordable for a quick night. I'm sure there are much worse out there but we definitely wouldn't stay again. It was my husband, myself and an 8 year old. The room was dark and smelly. We took a taxi which could barely get us there because it's at an intersection point of two very narrow roads...he had to back the taxi a great distance up a road. I can't envision someone parking anywhere near it. Even in the daytime I would not have been comfortable walking around in the area. (And I'm really laid back and comfortable in most all parts of the islands). Also, there is a lengthy indoor/outdoor walkway type staircase you have to go up to the closest rooms (carrying all your bags). If you don't have one of those closest rooms the rest of the place goes beyond that up and down many more small sets of stairs. Hope you find someplace great and have a wonderful trip! Hope this added info helps.
