Earlier this Spring our Corvette club made the trip to Bowling Green, then on to Nashville. While in Bowling Green we went downtown to a neat restaurant named "Mariahs" and they had Bushwhackers on the menu! Wow! I was so excited I told everyone in the group to go there, now I have them all hooked on them. I would love it if we could all go to the USVI together , we are the Vett set, just like in the commercial , meaning baby boomer's!

I don't post very often but look at the forum almost daily, just for my fix! After 7 trips to Stt I think you all have talked us into going to STJ next time. When we were in STT in March everything looked a little more un-kept, I don't know why , but when we left my Husband said maybe we should go to Fla next year. I'm not ready for all the old people yet, so maybe we will come down to STJ before it is covered with condos and resorts.

We not only use Magens Beach as wallpaper, but also have a huge picture over our bed with a lot of smaller pictures of our trips there, it's great to look at in the winter.

Just an FYI - I'm from Lexington Kentucky and there are Bushwackers being served here about every other weekend! Of course it's at the wetbar of my basement!!!

Glad you found your "fix" in Bowling Green!

Ha! good one VI lover! and there's going to be Painkillers served in WV tomorrow night! We girls are having a little "porch party" and mixing up Painkillers.

Lolly,
where in KY are you? we have a '75 vette that we take out occasionally, and have talked about those "clubs" where people travel together in their vettes. I don't know that I would go too far in ours - don't really like the rough ride, my husband is now so claustrophobic he can only ride with the top off, and then we have to "roll" out of it because we're not as young and spry any more! takes a can opener to get hubby out of it - no tilt wheel! We used to laugh at old gray-haired people in their sport cars when we were young, and now we're there!

Hi MG, we live in Iowa but made the looong trip to go to the museum and factory, about 20 cars went. My husbands 1st love was a 1980 and I know what you mean about the ride, now we have an 01, red conv. and what a difference! Our club is Midwest Corvette club with 140 members, some are more active than others but we have a lot of fun and lots of road trips, about 20 cars go to the Fun Fest, put on by Mid America motorworks in Effingham, Il , and we have a fall driveout that 33 cars went on last year, we go up into Minn for a long week-end and come back thru Wisc. beautiful drive with roads a lot like STJ, the best kind to drive!

We are all about the same age (boomers) and it is a hoot to see all of us getting out of our cars. DIGGER and I want to do the old RT66 drive before we become more senile, several of our friends have and had a lot of fun, thats what its all about, oh yea, speed too! Join a club, its a beautiful site when we're all lined up, like being on a parade and safer than the Harleys who seem to be everywhere we are , look at our clubs web site to see all the fun we have.

sorry to go on so long but it's better than all the old posts that keep popping up, and Kenney Chesney fans, he isn't the only celebrity down there, the rest are just smarter about their vacation plans and weddings (ok ok, I know I just PO'd a lot of people but its late here in the mid-west) Good Night

What a hoot...that is where I LIVE...I will have to check Mariah's and their Bushwackers out. Thanks for the heads-up!! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed our little town. And I hope the weather was good for you when you came through, it is normally very humid this time of year, we've been lucky here of late.

Thanks for visiting!!!
