Hi everyone -

Just arrived on St. Thomas yesterday and now have a camera issue. Our Nikon Coolpix 7900 seems to have died today!

We bought an underwater housing for the camera just last week, before leaving for this trip. We can order a new Nikon Coolpix 7900 on-line tomorrow and have it shipped overnight to the Marriott. Or we can try to find one here locally first.

Does anyone know the likelihood that some place like the Royal Caribbean Store downtown would have one? The camera is now an "older" model (we bought it over a year ago)... but don't know if Royal Caribbean tends to have all the latest and greatest, or might have a slightly older model such as ours... or if they have a large, or only a limited, selection.

I'll call tomorrow, but thought I'd ask here first.

We still have our Cannon Digital Rebel for land shots, but were planning on using the Coolpix for the scuba trips.

Thanks!

Carole

Check Boolchands too. Like Royal Caribbean they have locations both on Main Street and in the Havensight Mall.

Liberty Jewelers in Drakes Passage has a GREAT network. If you go in there and tell them what you are looking for, they immediately get on the phone and usually get it, and at a great price. Tell them CINDY sent ya! They are outstanding. Good luck, either way.

I'll call Liberty Jewelers. Thanks!

Royal Caribbean and Boolchands do not have this older model.

OK STT Res... Boolchands was a success. While no one had our old model of camera, we did buy a new camera and waterproof housing. After we get home, we'll return the housing for the camera that died... already got the RMA # for that so we're set!
