We just got back less then a month ago (me, wife and 2 close friends) and already are planning next year. I see there are car barges to St John, but is there one from St Thomas to Tortola? We plan to probably stay at RockWorks again as The Place was perfect. We want to be able to island hop with a rental car (probably a jeep again .. if it drives straight this time...). We are still debating on St Croix, though there is probably no reason to car barge to it (unless it is cheaper with the people included). Being a "rum island" that might not be the best place to be driving 😀

Cheers,
Walt

No car barge to Tortola and none to St Croix. Cheers!

Tortola is another country. i would imagine if you could get a car on a barge over to Tortola, you would spend most of your day filing out forms at customs. there are several car rental companies at West End ferry terminal. they will meet you at the ferry and you will be i na car and on your way in less than 30 minutes.

I have seen Mr. B and General II in the BVI's, but they were transporting vehicles from a car show. There are no car ferries/barges that have "scheduled" runs to the BVI. You will have to pay for the voyage all by yourself which would be at much more of a cost than a rental in BVI.

No rental car company in the USVI would allow you to take the vehicle to the BVI anyway!

If you decide to spend time on both St. Thomas and St. Croix you can travel between the two on the ferry which operates Thursdays through Mondays, the Seaplane or an inter-island airline such as Cape Air.
