Earlier it was posted that there were delays and lines at the car ferry due to a shortage of barges. We'll be in STT later this month and was wondering if anyone knows if there will still be delays. We're renting a minivan in STT and planned to take it over to STJ, but we may be better off with the passenger ferry and renting a car there. Any comments?

Can't say if they will be back to normal later in the month, but they are still down. We tried to go over to STT (from STJ) yesterday and the line was long, long, long and I think only 1 barge was running. We calculated we would not make it on on the next barge, it would have been the one after that, so we skipped going after a 15 min wait and no movement in line. We are all hoping things will get resolved.

Are there any problems with the passenger ferries?

We took the car Ferry on 7/14 from STT to STJ and we waited maybe 35 min, then on 7/22 we took the car Ferry from STJ back to STT and was on our way under 5 minutes.

We will be arriving in STT later this week and plan to take the car barge to STJ.

I was wondering if there is any update or current news on the status of the car barges?

Thanks!
