*Do i really need 4wd on st john?? I am a strong hiker, and am wondering if a two wheel drive auto would really keep me out of some areas???

Depends on the areas you want to go to. If you want to go exploring off the beaten path, then 4wd would help. If you are sticking to paved roads then you should be ok. However, there are some steep switchbacks that get slippery when it rains and I have seen some cars having a hard time going up. No biggie though.

But if money is no object, 4wd it is.
