Good afternoon folks, (on Boston time here)

I wanted to see if it's worh getting the additional $15 a day insurance coverage with the car rental or just depend on my personal car isurance coverage and credit card used? It's not much, about $105 but I could use that for some rum lol. Thank you in advance for the feedback. May 15th can't come soon enough!!! : O

Check with your insurer and your credit card company to see whether rentals in the Caribbean are covered, because in a surprising number of cases they are not.

Just make sure your personal insurance or your credit card will cover cost of loss of rental car by the company while it's out for repair. Between my Allstate coverage and my platinum credit card I am fully covered.

You are dealing with three separate contracts. Your insurance policy is one, your credit card is two, and the rental car contract is three. You would need to review all three contracts, and review the rental contract very closely. In many of the rental contracts you are responsible for loss of use, and diminished value. In many of the other contracts that is not covered.
