does anyone know where carnival docks in st maarten (dutch or french) side and locale ? also opinions on best beaches for sun and drink--- Thanks

Ummm....this is a Virgin Islands board and St Maarten/St Martin is not a Virgin Island. That said, all large cruise ships calling at St Maarten dock on the Dutch side at Philipsburg; only small ships, usually the luxury lines, call at Marigot on the French side. If you just want a day of sun and drink get a taxi to Orient Beach and you will be set for both.
