Does anyone know of a Catamaran excursion that leaves from Crown Bay? We will be on the Ruby in April and can only find ones that leave from Red Hook. OR could you suggest a cheaper way to get to Red Hook than the 10 - 12$ cab ride. There are 6 of us so it can get costly. thanks

Are you married to the idea of a catamaran? With 6 people, you could basically have a sailboat all to yourselves!

There are boats that will pick up in Crown Bay -- I doubt any of them will travel to ST John - [unless they are power vessels] - the distance from downtown STT to STJ is quite a sail - and generally upwind and often rough - most of the vessels working out of Charlotte Amalie and Crown Bay go to Buck Island - Turtle Cove or maybe as far as Great St James. -- That is why most people go to Red Hook to take a sail to STJ - it is much closer!
With 6 people you could probably rent a car and park it in Red Hook for the day for a lot less than -------- 6 X $12 there and the same back.

Sea Chateau is a catamaran based out of Crown Bay. They will take you to St John, or to the BVI's for that matter. From what I've seen it's a very clean operation, and the owners are very nice people. Have heard all good things about them.

Heavenly Days is another catamaran that picks up at the Crown Bay dock and goes to St. John. Here is their website: http://www.bolongobay.com/heavenlydays.htm.
