I found this in the Earth Cam - St. Thomas Cam website.

I think this answers the question "What do they mean, chance of rain"?

Yep.This is why you could be sitting on the beach, soaking up the last sun of a long day of rays, sipping a rum punch when someone calls you from the states to ask "I saw that it rained there all day today! What did you find it do?"...

(sip) nothin'! (smile)

Love that photo. Let's make sure we share that with people who come here and ask about whether or not it will rain during their visit.

That's a keeper. Islander should use it as a general reference for those asking about rain forecasts.

Is it me or is that cloud burst right over the cruise ship?

I don't know, chris. Looks like it is over the airport area, to me. It might be a matter of perspective.

Sorry Blu, I meant that almost as wishful thinking.

Great Stephen King idea though...a cruise ship constantly followed by a rain cloud. 🙂

Dream,

funny.
Harold and.....Marge. Sandals with socks. Bragging to all their friends that they love to cruise because it is classy. Ordering fruity, frozen drinks. Eating enough shrimp at the buffet to make themselves sick because, after all, it's free!

Nothing against Harolds and Marges of the world, as long as they don't cruise and wear socks with sandals!

Memorable quotes from Harold and ............Maude (1971)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maude: I should like to change into a sunflower most of all. They're so tall and simple. What flower would you like to be?
Harold: I don't know. One of these, maybe.
Maude: Why do you say that?
Harold: Because they're all alike.
Maude: Oooh, but they're NOT. Look. See, some are smaller, some are fatter, some grow to the left, some to the right, some even have lost some petals. All KINDS of observable differences. You see, Harold, I feel that much of the world's sorrow comes from people who are THIS,
[she points to a daisy]
Maude: yet allow themselves be treated as THAT.
[she gestures to a field of daisies]

This Harold wears mis-matched socks with his sandals, and his
wife wears slinky glasses with crazy eyeballs on the end going in every direction.
Anyone seen them lately??

Yes, I have!
I think I met these folks yesterday. They were on a cruise and having the time of their lives! They had been saving for this trip for years and were really enjoying themselves and making the most out of every moment.
It was a pleasure to see them having so much fun, we were all smiling when they left. I hope they come back again soon.

All I can say is that it's a really cool pic. Was that taken from Paradise Point?
