Hi - we're staying at the cinimon bay campground and would like some recommendations on CHEAP - but good dining - we're talking less than $10 an entree.... I have dietary restrictions - so no fast food please! Also are there any restaurants that have specific meals we just shouldn't miss? Like a grand buffet for $5 for breakfast? Anything?

Food in the Islands is generally more expensive than stateside as the cost of import adds pretty much, to all food. If you found a $5 buffet in St. John Call the health department! However there are some to consider. Uncle Joe's BBQ, Corn on the cob, ribs, BBQ Chicken,There is food at Cinnamon but I haven't eaten there. The good news is most all of the resaurants are great! (Mediocrity withers and dies pretty quickly) I'm sure more posters will pitch in shortly.

You say you have dietary restrictions but you want to keep it under $10 an entree. Hmmmm.... That is going to be a tough one. There are no fast food restaurants on St. John so if this was your only dietary restriction, it makes it a little easier. If you are talking restrictions on certain types of food, I could not offer advice being that I don't know what those restrictions are.

Wes gave you a really good option.... that is Uncle Joes BBQ. Reasonable price, good portions, and delicious. Roma's has good pizza and I think you can keep it around $20 for 2 people. Duffy's Love Shack has "entrees" under $10 but in my opinion there food is mediocre at best. Its a much better place to drink. Woody's Seafood (another GREAT place to drink) has deep fried seafood platters for around $10 .... I think. There is a deli in town that makes great sandwiches (the name escapes me right now). And there are many places to get a burger and fries for around $10.

Other than that..... its going to be extremely difficult to get a good entree for around $10. Hope this helps.

Yep.... You are 100% correct. I did forget about the Subway. So if you consider Subway a fast food restaurant..... I stand corrected.
