I was going to rent a suv on st. john, just wondering if I can get a toodler from the airport to redhook/ferry without having to take a car seat with us and get one with the rental car.

Yea, I was wondering about this too. What are the child seat laws for STT and STJ?

I looked into this myself. You might want to double check this yourself because its been awhile but I believe that children over 40 pounds do not need car seats at least legally. Not sure what the regulations are for taxis. Although our child is 5 and legally does not need a car seat, we plan on checking our booster seat to use over there. It seems that alot of the car rental places have seats for smaller children but not booster seats. Seat belts are not made to properly fit children that young.

Might want to double check this info.

If you take a taxi, you won't need a car seat to get there. We took our car seat, and it was a total waste for the amount of travelling. we used Dollar Man for everything, and of course, there were no seat belts! hehe. My son is ruined for the car seat now. It was a blast!
