OK everyone, Have a question for you?
We bought 2 Christmas trees for both of our villas and have used them a couple of times, but I have run into the issue of whether I should or not do to other religions and obviously I have no clue who is coming in! SO, What do you think? Should I skip them or just do it! 🙂
PS- I am using one of them this yr as my 7 foot tree simply won't fit in my shack! But do I put one in the other villa? You decide!

If you are staying in the villa, you have every right to do what you wish. However, from a pure business angle you must accommodate your customer's desires. Offer it if they are interested. Otherwise, keep it in storage.

I would put them up. People should be tolerant of different things. If someone displayed a mindora 'sp' I would take it as that is fine. You are the owner the people should just be thankful that you are renting your wounderful homes to them

Last December the Boston Globe published commentary from different people on this very subject. The opinion of one Jewish girl who contibuted comes to mind - her feeling is that Christmas lights are pretty and that the season is more festive for everyone when they are displayed. Her statement says it all - God bless her!

From a business point of view - when I spoke to my Christmas guest, I would ask if they wanted the Christmas tree up and decorated and act accordingly. Why guess when you can know what they want/need?

I would ask the guest first if they would like a tree as I am sure there are many Holiday travelers who do not celebrate Christmas in any form. It is okay for them to see the pretty lights, etc that others may be displaying, but for them they do not share the same views, and it wouldn't be good to have a tree up that they have to stare at for a week or ask to have removed.

Just my 2 cents, for what its worth. 🙂

Hi everyone,
Thanx for your input! I did have one Jewish family arrive and they were thrilled to have the tree and even went out and got more decorations! I still correspond with them to this day! We also have a 7ft. lighted palm tree out on the decks at both villas and have been a huge hit! They are actually Christmas decorations, but we use them yr. round!
Linda J, We do not book our villas ourselves so I have no clue as to whom is coming in! We use McLaughlin Anderson and even then agents book for McLaughlin! So it can be quite a chain of contacts to find out if the guests would actually want a Christmas tree!
Keep your responses coming!
🙂

Then I would not put up the tree.

Well, sounds to me like I should skip the trees! Thinking on doing a Poinsettia instead! I think that should be OK!
Thanx for the responses! 🙂
