Just thought I'd say hi. We'll be coming to celebrate our 20th anniversary in early April, I was last there as a 19 year old backpacker almost 30 years ago at Cinnamon Bay. We live on Bowen Island in British Columbia and from the look of it there are lots of things we have in common. Even a local forum: http://forum.bowen-island-bc.com/list.php?f=1
Think we need to rent a car? How about scooters?
See you soon.

You definitely need a car to see and do St. John. Prefereably a Jeep as the roads are very steep and when wet you need that 4-wheel drive. Wow 19 year since you've been to STJ! Be sure and do a trip report when you return. We'd love to hear your comments!

I hope you'll have a great time visiting St John. One way to NOT have a great time would be trying to get around on scooters. I'm sure they're sufficient if you only want to buzz around on the major roads, but if it rains or you want to go even a little bit off the beaten path, you'll at least want a car with front wheel drive. If you want to get waaay off the beaten path you'll want 4 wheel drive. It should cost roughly 80 dollars per day for a jeep. Just make sure to reserve in advance.
