After a 5-day kayak/camping trip we'll be spending 3 more nights on St. John before flying home. We're looking at the Estate Concordia Studios and the Harmony Studios. Maho Bay, where Harmony is located, looks like a much prettier area, especially the beach, and with more amenities nearby. But Concordia Estates looks like it might be quieter and more relaxing. We'll be pretty active during the day, but will want some pretty ocean views while relaxing afterwards.

Does anyone know: Is Maho Bay prettier than the southeast tip of the island? Is Maho Bay crowded? How are the beaches near Salt Pond Bay?

If you are looking for quieter and more relaxing I would go to Concordia. It is just beautiful and quieter. Salt Pond Bay is great! Great snorkling also. Make sure you do the hike out to ram's head!! The beauty can not be beat.

IMHO Maho Bay is much prettier since it is on the wet side. More to do there as well.

Which part of the island is more beautiful? It's all beautiful.

Concordia would offer greater privacy and a feeling of being very remote. Good snorkeling at Salt Pond and Lameshur. Not too far a drive to restaurants/bars/stores in Coral Bay.

Maho would feel more populated. It offers conveniences that Concordia doesn't-----walk down to the restaurant and the store. Several good snorkeling beaches within easy walk.

Which ever you choose, you won't have regrets.
