Has anyone out there stayed at Concordia on St Johns? Interested in knowing how it compares to Maho Bay Camp. Also would like to see a map of the camp or get a recommendation as to which are the best sites. Thanks Don

Don:
Have not stayed but visited in Jan, there doesnt look like a bad site at this camp site/paradise. They have the most spectacular view on the whole island(my opinion) All the camp site are perched on the mountain side overlooking the Atlantic/ Caribbean/Salt pond/Drunk bay. This is a top notch camp ground with the enviroment being first annd foremost as far as eco systems go, the tents are beautiful along with the resturants and grounds. I was impressed beyond my wildest expectatiopns. WOW.

Hi!

I have stayed at Concordia and Maho. Concordia wins hands down! I have stayed there 3 times and I am going back for a 4th time in May. There is a fresh water swimming pool, a small convenience store and a nice restaurant. It is a nice hike to Salt Pond Bay, Drunk bay and Rams Head. It is in close proximaty to some very nice and fun resturants and bars.
You will need a car of course.

The Caribbean breeze at night is amazing, and the small private decks are wonderful for morning coffee and evening drinks!

Each unit has it's own toilet and shower and everything is solar and/or wind powered. There are no electrical outlets in the cabins. Even the shower is solar heated, so it is best to take a shower later in the day so the water is warmer.

It truly is the best place to get away for awhile.

Take care and have fun!

Dean

Thanks for the information. Do you have any recommendations for the best tent sites?. Also, no electrical outlets? How do you get light at night? Thanks Don

Don,
We were at Concordia for 9 days at the beginning of the month and it was great. We stayed in # 24, we loved it. There were tents with better views but I think they all have great views. tent 24 and 25 seemed to be the most private. I understand that some sights were very windy which can get loud and the birds don't visit the windy tents. Someone has posted a video tour of the tent on Utube. As for lights there are regular lights that are solar powered. Hope this helps..

I've gotta' chime in, here.
While Maho Bay has been my favorite place in the world for some time now,
I'm thinking about getting married to my sweet Amy on the beach , and staying at Concordia during the first 3 days of our 11 day trip, this fall.
Any thoughts...?
Smiles-
MJ

I say that is a great idea. At Concordia theres only 25 or so units, so it offers more privacy. And I am sure your Amy will appreciate her own private shower and bathroom on her wedding day. Any particular beach in mind? We got married in Jamaica,(at Sandals) and though it was a beautiful place we have no desire to go back there, especially since finding St. John and Concordia!!!!!! You can't go wrong getting married in Paradise.....
