I had posted earlier about using a friends timshare for next Feb/March...but now some family members are looking at coming to St Thomas with us. Wondering if anyone has a condo they would want to rent out that can accomodate 2 people if it just me and the hubby or one that can accomodate 8 if the fam comes.....
Thanks!

The only condos I can think of that can accommodate that many people are at Pineapple Beach on the East End. They have three bedrooms and 4 baths. The rooms can also be separated off into smaller units if the owner chooses to do so. I'm pretty sure some folks who post here have rentals there and will hopefully come forward.

We are in the process of renovating our unit at Pineapple. We are going to market our unit as an option of the entire villa of 3 bedrooms 4 bathrooms. The main unit with the kitchen and living room will also have sleeping accommodations for 2. One or two of the units will also have 2 double beds bringing the sleeping capacity to 12. In our renovations we are adding mini kitchens in with the studio bedroom suites. If you rent the entire villa, you can access each bedroom suite from the main unit. If you choose the option of a single bedroom suite you have the option of 2 double beds (for a family) or one king bed. Each suite will have a full bath and small kitchen. The kitchens will include a sink, refrigerator, microwave, double burner hot plate and other small appliances such as a toaster, blender and coffee maker. The main unit will have a full service kitchen. Each unit has it's own private garden patio with seating and or lounging area with an outdoor BBQ grill. There is also private access to the individual unit through these garden patios

All of our units will be fully stocked with dishes, towels and other amenities provided by hotels. We will also be having daily maid service.

Our unit opens to the pool area. It is about a 2 minute walk to Pineapple Beach and Fungi's, 5 minute walk to Coki Beach, Coral World, Picasso's and the Toad and Tart. It is about a 5 minute drive to Red Hook.

Our condo is being completely renovated, not remodeled. We have torn down all of the drywall to install new plumbing and electric service. We have purchased Mexican and Travertine tiles for the floors and counter tops. All new cabinets and I am currently working with Shawn (you may have seen her posts on the relocation board) to purchase Balinese and sea grass furniture for our unit. We are really putting in our blood, sweat and tears on our project.

As you can see, we love St. Thomas and are in the process of making our dream a reality.

A little back round on Pineapple Village. Pineapple is surrounded by the former Grand Palace Beach Resort. It was purchased last year by the Wyndham who has plans for complete renovations of the hotel complex. The hotel is currently closed. Although we enjoy the peace and quiet of our condo now, we are looking forward to all of the extra amenities that the hotel will offer. Pineapple Village is a private and beautifully landscaped association. It is part of the gated complex with the hotel complete with security guards on staff through the hotel. It is also a small condo association. Their are only 40 units and all are main floor units. Very nice not to have to climb all of those stairs to reach your destination, especially after stocking up on amenities for your stay. Each unit is independently owned, some are over the top beautiflully decorated, others are a little more basic. All of the ones that I have personally been in are very nice.

I have gotten to know many of my new neighbors and they are great. I haven't had the pleasure to meet G-Dub-Ya, but I know that he also posts on this forum and rents out his units at Pineapple. If you are not looking to stay at a mega resort and want a great value, you should check out Pineapple. When we complete our renovations (hopefully by July) I will be posting a web page with photos. You can also check out other units on vrbo.com or by googling Pineapple Village St. Thomas.

Maybe too much information, but this may be helpful to someone. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Molly
