I was just looking at the cruise ship schedule and see that there will be a ship stopping at St John on Saturday Feb 28th. That is the day we leave paradise and go back to the grind.:-( Should we allow extra time to catch the ferry? (We will be using the car ferry because our rental is from the airport.)

I don't think a cruise ship stopping on STJ will interrupt anything you have planned. Any passengers who will be coming over to STT will come over on the passenger ferry not the car barge and the majority of those staying on STJ will be going to the various beaches. Cheers!

On Feb 28th the ship calling on St. John is scheduled to be there from 7am to 6pm. In the early morning with people getting off the ship and heading out for the day and in the afternoon with people heading back to the ship there will likely be extra traffic with taxis/tours; if you think you'll be affected in that way you might allow a little extra time to get to the car barge. Other than that, just check to make sure the various car barges are running. If one is down (or two :-o) things obviously get out of sync and you'd want to plan accordingly.

Folks living on St. John, are all the car barges running right now? Pia? St.John Ruth?

sandrasjunk... you could ask someone living on St. John :), or best bet is to call one of the barges and ask. The numbers are listed on the Ferry Schedule page of the site. Hey, you are down to 3 days until your trip! Whoo Hooo!!!

Hello Sandrasjunk, just noticed on the events calendar that the 8 tuff Miles Race is that Saturday - Feb 28th. It will affect traffic. Last year they had 728 runners/walkers... the route is Cruz Bay to Coral Bay via Centerline Rd.... starts at 7:15am. You can ask around about it once on St. John so you can plan accordingly when heading to the car barge.

You're down to hours now before your trip... Have a great time!

Thank you for the info. I will ask around. I don't think we plan to leave the villa until around 10:00. Hopefully the race will not interfere.
We are about 13 hours away from take off!!! I will be "too excited to sleep"
