My husband and I are planning a trip to St John this december and want to spend a day on a boat trip to BVI. I did some reasearch and came accross Horizons II and Stormy Petrel tours. Do you happen to know which ones are better? We are looking to see as many islands as we can and don't care so much for lunch, etc..

Please help!
Thank you!!!

Took the trip with Stormy Petrol twice, nice both times. They always stop for lunch on Cooper island, always a good meal. I know that you are not in it for lunch, but believe me you will probably be hungry after snorkeling and visiting the Baths all morning, plus you get to see another island. Never took the Horizons II, but have heard great reviews on this board. The best thing to do is see what islands they are visiting on the day that you request and go from there.

Have a great time,

Molly

Molly, thank you so much for the follow-up! I think the only difference between the two is that Stormy Petrol does not stop at Jost Van Dyke and Horizons II does. So, the path that Stormy Petrol takes is: Virgin Gorda (for the baths) peter island and cooper island, correct?

I horizons II sales: Virgin Gorda, Marina Cay, Guana Island and Jost Van Dyke. I think Horizons has more island destinations, but Stormy Petrol sounds more private and not as crowded.

I am sure both tours are gorgeous but it is a touch choice.....

🙂

I think on some days the daytrip goes to Jost instead of Norman Island. The difference is if you want to go to the beach, or a great snorkeling place. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures of Norman Island, you go swimming into the caves, great unique fish with big eyes and a local resident barraccuda lingers around.
