What is a day trip from St. John to Jost Van Dyke like? Is it worth the $40? How easy is it to get from the ferry dock on Jost to White Beach? What facilities are at White Beach and what does it cost to go there? Thank you.
Richard: If you take the ferry, you will disembark at Great Harbour. White Bay is a 15-20 minute hike or a cab ride away. If you go on one of the day boats, they usually clear in at Great Harbour (make sure you bring your documents), then they take you directly to White Bay. There are a number of beach bars/restaurants there...and at the end of the beach, water toy and ATV rental...
Don't miss Ivan's Stress Free Bar. It's wonderful to know there still exists a place with an honor bar. Ivan is a wonderful man, I camped there for 2 nights in October. Too bad you're not there at night... you too could become a member of the "International Ever-changing All-Star Band" (ask about it). Jewell's on the "main drag" of White Bay serves incredible hot dogs and burgers.
