I have only been to St. John once and that was a day trip from Tortolla so I am not very familiar with the island. We have rented Villa Claudia and on the map it looks like it is close to Point Ditlepoint and about 15 minutes from Cruz Bay. Do you know anything about this area or if there is a lot of construction going on?
Thank you,
Denise

On the bright side Villa Claudia is a beautiful villa that is on the Fish Bay side of the ridge overlooking Ditleff Point surrounded by several other large, beautiful, some would say ostentatious, villas.

On the down side this Rendezvous area is a hot area for development. Houses are being worked on on the opposite side of the Fish Bay valley, behind (west) of the villa, but hopefully not too close. Regardless there will be building noise, but there aren't too many areas, especially in hot popular areas, where that is not the case.

Contact the agent to find out if anyone is building on an adjacent lot-most agents would have said something.

We stay over in that area pretty frequently. We head down tomorrow and my sister, New England, is going to overlook the area. I remember seeing the house when we stayed at Villa Caribe, the Peter Max house, last October. There was some finishing work being done lower down the hill. Send me a PM the week of 11/27 and I'll let you know what I see next week.

Cheers, RickG

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully we won't be bothered too much with the noise. Most of the time we will be at the beaches, exploring or visiting some of the other islands.

Sounds like we made a good choice on the villa, as long as the construction isn't too bad.

Rick, I hope you have a wonderful vacation! Five more months for us.

Thanks again!

Denise
