OK I have not even been to STT yet (May 24) and alredy planning my return...found a really nice condo for rent at a good price on Dorthea Beach! Anyone know anything about that Northern area? I think it would be a great place to go with just my hubby to have a nice relaxing romantic vacation away from EVERYTHING! Curious to know if anyone every stays on that side of the island! Thanks!

The Dorothea area is a nice quiet spot and I assure you that you will enjoy your stay there! I myself, live in Dorothea and love it! Lots of people have stayed in the area and are out there to answer your question!
Blaze, Rusty, or Gobucs (to name a few from the forum) are you out there? No need to mention the villas I manage, the owner of the Dorothea Condo is wonderful and she will take GREAT care of you! You will not be sorry!
The beach itself is rocky and tho a few go in the water, I just like to go for walks there. You have the pool area and since the island is not that big, it's easy access to just about anywhere!

Sherri - I'll join in!

Elisa - We stayed in Dorothea this past March at Rockworks villa. We had beautiful views of Dorothea Bay. We spent most of our beach time at Megan's Bay, so I cannot comment on the beach, except that, as Sherri, said we had heard it is rocky. We really liked the area. It is nice and quiet yet it is easy to get to other parts of the island - once you get used to the driving!!!

There is a great restaurant, Northdrop, close by. It has an outdoor deck with a great view. Charlotte Amalie is maybe 10 to 15 minutes away and Megan's Bay about 10 minutes. We really enjoyed this part of the island and are hoping to return in the not too distant future.

I'll join in and i'm wondering what condo you're looking at.

I've been to Sherri's and her place is absolutely beautiful. I didn't stay there, but I visited and I was really impressed.

If you want to know anything about that area, you should talk to Sherri and she'll definetly help you out.

Hey Sherri!

We are returning to the Dorothea area next week and can't wait to get back. Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful. Dorothea Beach is not worth a long visit, but Hull Bay Beach is nice and nearby. It's a long drive to the east end of STT from there but the scenery is nice along the way. Have a great trip....

Hey everyone,
Thanks for your input to elisa's questions! Kerrie, sorry i didn't mention you in my first post, I thought of you, but didn't know if you would write! Thanks for chiming in! 🙂
elisa,
There is also a restaurant at the top of the hill called Dino's and has take out pizza!
There is only one short term rental at Dorothea Condo's and the rest is all long term rentals. My daughter lived right next door to the condo you would be staying in so I have had the pleasure of meeting the owner of your condo. I love what she has done with the condo and have met many of her guests and they have all loved their stay there! As I said, you will be well taken care of!
The area is called "Little Nordside" and I also like to think of it is little St. John. Very peaceful and quiet!
Book with confidence and enjoy! 🙂

Blaze- see you on the 20th, already have the Coconut Rum!
Connie- see you on the 24th!

Thanks all!! Like I said I have not even been to the island yet but know we'll be back! We've been Aruba lovers for the past 7 years and have gone 2x's a year since falling in love with it. Done and moving on.....

Connie...this place was found on a rental site (not the one I used for Pt. Pleasant but I think I saw it there also). Its modern and beautiful. Right on the beach. I really love that its secluded. I did a little research yesterday and do know the names of the owners now and they live on the island so that's good! One thing I'm not sure about is staying around the condo and dinning IN. (Although nearby restaurants were mentioned). Hubby loves to go OUT to eat dinners on vacation and a place like that I'd like to BBQ or cook nice romantic dinners IN! As it would be our 2nd time on the island we wouldn't feel like we are missing something! I think I'll go check it out when I'm there IN 8 DAYS (DID I SAY THAT LOUD ENOUGH?)

Again, thanks for the input all.
