I will be staying on St. John in June. I scheduled an early departure (0730) on AA not thinking it would not be an issue coming from STJ. I noticed (after the fact) that there are 5:30 ferry departures from STJ, but they may be seasonal.

Does anyone know if there is a reliable way to get from STJ to STT early in the morning on a weekday in June? Is traffic bad in the morning from RH to airport?

Thanks in advance....TXsailor

The ferry schedule under "Quick Links" above right is up to date. I don't know where you're seeing a 5:30 Cruz Bay to Red Hook ferry as the 6AM has, to the best of my knowledge, always been the earliest. I'm sure the St John contingent will chip in but I think this is a very tight call. If the 6AM can't work, the alternative is a (very expensive) water taxi trip (Dohm's or Dolphin) or an overnight on St Thomas (Best Western Emerald Beach takes single night reservations and is right on the airport road on a lovely beach; Crystal Palace is an historic B&B above town).
