Hi
Booked for 1 week in July. Just looking for a nice beach, clean resort, pool and fun place to hang without spending a fortune. We got a great rate with continental breakfast included. Usually do the all-inclusive in Mexico, Punta Cana, Jamaica etc.... never been to the USVI so can't wait to go. Prices way to high to do all-inclusive on the island so Emerald Beach Resort won!!
Yearly getaway with my sister - how is the safety issue for 2 females on the island?
Any place near the hotel to buy beer & wine to keep in our room?
Anyone stayed?
Any tips or advice on stuff to do and see would be great .
Thanks
Jackie

You can get liquor at the airport when you arrive. You should be perfectly safe as long as you use common sense such as not wandering around downtown late at night, etc. Same as you would do at home.

Nice beach where you're staying. You aren't terribly far from Frenchtown which has lots of great restaurants. Also not far from the ferry to the British Virgin Islands but you'll have to have a passport for those.

You can also go downtown to catch a ferry to St. John to spend the day. Have fun!

There is also a convience store not 1/4 of a mile from Emerald Beach. Have stayed there 4 times and loved the beach and everyone working at hotel. Enjoy. They also have shuttle that goes into town every am. Have to take cab back. $5.oo per person. Enjoy.

St John celebrates carnival in July - close to the 4th. Don't know if you'll be here then, but that's always fun.

Emerald Beach is close to the University of the Virgin Islands, and there may be a concert or event or two going on while you're here. Ask again closer to your departure date.

You're close to Water Island, and they usually have a band on Sunday afternoons, so that should be fun. You can take the ferry over from Crown Bay for $5 pp each way.

You'll definitely want to go to the soca night at The Greenhouse in town (I think it's Fri, but it may be Sat). GREAT band and dancing.

Nobody mentioned that you are right across from the airport?!? C'mon, guys! It's a great little place, awesome beach, the only downside being the airport...which is RIGHT THERE. You WILL hear planes about once per hour during the day...other than that, you'll have a great time. Personally, I don't care at all about the planes, but some people will be upset if they go without knowing about the planes, don't you agree? Just thought you'd wanna know...

Yeah, but they aren't huge jets every hour & most don't fly right over the resort. Every time I've had long lunches there, I've never noticed noise from the planes & there aren't any big flights after 9:00 PMish.

Having stayed there for 3 wks. every yr.for last 5 yrs. i can tell you that only time you hear jetsor any planes is between 2 & 4 in the afternoon and then only for about 1 minute. Don't hear the smaller ones at all.
Enjoy your stay. You WILL love the VI.
