Just returned from an excellent trek to Everest Base Camp. We had no problems neither on the trek nor in Kathmandu. In my opinion it’s safe to trek in Nepal at the moment. Of course you have to use your common sense as always when you travel abroad.

Unless there's been a massive overnight geographical shift of which I'm as yet unaware, I don't think this has anything to do with the USVI...
