Hey Martha!

What time of month will you be there? We'll be at Cinnamon Bay Feb. 20-27.

I've been there before and my suggestions I guess would be to just bring as little as possible, as you just don't need that much "stuff" to enjoy your time on St. John. Also, bring some bug spray. Last time I went I took my fiance and we just took a very small tent. It would probably be worth it to lug a bigger tent down (even those fold up pretty small now), just so you have room to completely stand up, dress, and lay out your stuff. I'm coming down w/ 2 friends and we're going to pack a big tent and a couple air mattresses as we'll be there an entire week.. Bring hiking shoes (or like Keen sandals) and flip flops and you'll be all set.

Have fun and maybe we'll see you!

T.J.

Martha,
Definitely bring the bug spray. I was just there last week and they are biting. Cinnamon will rent you a cooler, cooking supplies, etc if you ask. I don't know what the prices are. Also, see if you can get a bare site that has a tarp or bring one with you and some rope. When it rains it pours and often even the best litle camp tents aren't impervious to that kind of rain. You need very little to enjoy yourself there. The restaurant prices aren't ridiculous if you feel like grabbing a meal there and the store right next to it has basic staples, including ice for the cooler. Some of the staff have been there a long time. Henry that works security is great. It is a family camp ground and 10 is quiet hour. It is not the place for heavy duty partying as they have and will kick people out that don't respect quiet hours as the sound really carries throughout the campground. I have always found other campers to be generous, often giving the rest of their food or a tarp, etc to the next camper rather than haul it home. We go at the same time every year and have run into many people doing the same...some coming for the last 30 years. A safe place to stay and by far, the best beach on STJ. Have a great trip. Janet
