Thank you to everyone who posts on this board! I reviewed it prior to our trip to STT (just returned last night) and made my plans according to your reviews/opinions. My husband and my two children (ages 18 and 10) could not say enough about how much they like the restaurants, beaches and activities that we did! So here goes:

We DID rent a jeep from Dependable and loved IT!!! Good price and they let us leave it at the airport because we had an early departure. We DID go to Iggy's at Bolongo Bay and LOVED it! Best crab legs(I think on Sat. night only and all you can eat) and awesome beach view and relaxed atmosphere. Our 10 year old loved the beach, pirates and the lights. My 18 year old LOVED it as well.
We did eat at Skinny Legs /Coral Bay St. John and thought the food was very good. Not much of a view though if you are looking for that.
We did snorkel at Coki Beach, Trunk Bay and Magens Bay and loved them all with Coki having the most to see. The beach at Coki was beautiful but when we first drove in we saw a parked police car and then a man waving us down. We stopped (mostly bc of the Police car) but the guy just wanted to get us to park and go to "his" part of the beach and rent everything from him. He told us NOT to go to Coral World! We did anyway (my 10 y/o son and husband) and they had a great time. My daughter and I went to the beach. Then the same guy came past us and gave me a hard time for not renting from him. So, just for the sake of "making nice" I rented a chair from him. They probably have as many beach waiters as they do tourists so if you are looking to have your drinks brought to you this is the place to be.
Trunk Bay and Magens Bay much nicer while no one to hassle you but just bring your own cooler. Easy enough. Buy a collapsable cooler and take on trip with you or get one at KMart there.

We did eat at Maggie Malhones/ Redhook and liked the atmosphere, live music and food. Service was good.
We did eat at Fungi's near Pleasant Point and loved the atmosphere but the waitress was ummmmm........Let's just say I did not get all of my food and she told that SHE WAS SURE THAT SHE GAVE ME MY FOOD!!!!! Even though she didn't and my family just thought it was hysterical! Then she finally said "well if you didn't get it then that must mean we don't have it". Final answer. I did loose a few pounds on this trip. LOL!
We did eat at Fish Tails (wasn't sure bc had not read a review) but it was delicious. Waiter was happy and did a great job. We had planned to go to the Love Shack (Duffy's) but couln't stay bc it was very loud and my 10 year old actually asked us if we could leave and he has never done that before. We had parked there and so when returned we saw the "loud" one over next to the bushes puking his brains out and the waiters assisting him by holding him up!
We did rent jet skiis at Sapphire beach and although the area was a little run down the jet skiis (according to my 18 year old) was the best part of the trip.......FUN!!!

Had planned to sail/parasail but it was too windy on the day we planned to go.

St. John's is so beautiful and nice to drive around that I know we will definitely go back. Trunk Bay is the best with great beach and snorkeling. Clean bathroom facilities. Have fun and go with the flow........................

st. john has no "s"... but that did not change the great time you had, and I am glad. thanks for filing the wonderful report. i know someone who went to fish tails and liked it a lot, and have been considering going myself. the red hook restaurant is "molly malone's" and one of my favorite spots... and LOL @ your time @ fungi's! the food is massive, but i tellya, they serve until it's done!

i notice that sometimes we are a bit peppery when we point out misspellings out things like "st. john" and "magens bay" (this was fine in your trip report!), but please excuse us, we offer this correction with the intent that the names of these places will be related correctly in future - not to diminish your excitement at visiting nor your pleasant memories!
