"The V.I. Public Services Commission has approved a plan by ferry company V.I. SeaTrans, to soon begin leaving St. Thomas earlier and St. Croix later during the upcoming tourist season....The idea behind the switch is to try to entice more St. Thomas visitors to take the ferry for day trips to St. Croix..."

The full story, including the ferry schedule, can be found here: http://stthomassource.com/content/news/local-news/2009/09/18/st-croix-st-thomas-ferry-schedule-flip-october

Not to hijack, but I will be trying to get from St. John to St. Croix on a Monday in early November. I've set up a tour on St. Croix it departs Christiansted across from Government House starting at 10 am and usually last until 3:30 or 4. Would the change in the article be a good route to take, or should I stick with Seaborne airlines? (I'm thinking the 6am ferry from Cruz Bay to Red Hook, then taxi to CA by 8am to take this ferry, will this ferry let off near the Government House in St. Croix? Also, does anyone know if you can leave your bags at the ferry or airport terminals for the day, if you are taking roundtrips? Thanks.

Take the boat to CA, it's a short stroll to the flyboat base. It lands in downtown C'sted. It's a giggle of a flight, Seaborne will book the entire round trip for you.

Stick with Seaborne; they're reliable, and ferry service between STT and STX (and PR) is not.

Thanks, I'm thinking seaborne is a good way to get rather nice view of the islands too.

I'd stay with the seeaplane, too - the ferry (or, barf-barge, as some call it) can be a very, very rough ride.
