It was closed during Christmas/New Years. We met the owner's aunt on the plane and we said we would say hello to the owner, but we couldn't find him. Perhaps they were just on holiday. The truck is still there.

They aren't open now...I'm not sure what their plans are. I'm friends with one of the guys who runs the place and I keep begging him to re-open! Or come over and cook for me 😀 I'll try and get more info.

Thanks!

We love that little place. I like being able to ask for a plates of some of everything they made that day! I will be there in March with three daughters so hope they are open by then.

Just back. Fire foods is in fact empty and sad.

We did however visit "Forward to your Roots" in Cruze Bay. Vegetarian food only, quaint road side vendor. Eat under the banana trees that he uses for the drinks. It was great. I recommend you just ask for a plate of "a bit of what ever you made today". We each ordered a different fruit drink and each was delicious. I can not give a higher recommendation. We loved the food. He only serves until early afternoon. We made it by 2:30 and he was still open.

Head to the gas station. Turn right just before the basketball courts (at a school?) The place is blue and white on the right side of the road just a short distance. Used to be a road side mobile stand that is now permanently parked. My girls wanted to go back but we never ended up in town again at that time of day.

Did I say we loved it?

Fire Foods still not open!!! I keep hearing threats from my friend though. I haven't gotten the full story on the delay... So glad you tried Forward to Your Roots. I LOVE the food there. My husband orders that way too, "Some of everything, treat me like I'm family and make it a BIG plate" He really likes the peanut punch. He says it's a great pick me up while he's at work to keep him going.
