Never been to Saint Thomas before. We are looking for a place on the beach, preferably a small villa but a small hotel will do. We only need one bedroom, so it definitely does not need to be big, but we would like it to very clean, safe, and private if possible. We end up spending all of our time on the pool deck area when we vacation, so a pool is a must and a hot tub makes it even better. Any suggestions on a small but clean place right on the beach that has a pool, hot tub, is private, safe and clean????

Thanks

Vernon:

You might try Point Pleasant Resort. It seems to fit your requirements, except for the hot tub. You'll probably have the three pools to yourself or the very small and secluded sugar beach to yourself, also. And the view...incredible.

Check out Stone Cottage or Rockworks.

Also check out Pavillions and Pools - each room has its own private pool and you are close enough to Sapphire Beach to walk to it.

We stayed at Pools and Pavilions in 2005. The privacy was wonderful. However, the rooms were in need of updating and not the cleanest. If I would have known in advance it might have been better. We were paying about $300/nt and expected something a little nicer.

Vernon,
You don't say when you are planning to vacation and sometimes that makes a difference.
If cost isn't a problem and you say it is your first time, If I were you I would go for broke and look into more high end places, and then you won't be let down when you get there. All the 4 & 5 stars don't mean the same stars as in the states. They don't clean like in the states IMO and "Gray" water repels some who aren't use to that sort of thing in some smaller places, and cistern water repels others by just the thought of it.. You don't mention where you are used to going on vacation, or if you have ever gone to another island, generally speaking. Personally I'm a priss and don't deal well with much except for on the islands.......... and so I give a lot of slack. It is what it is and I have come back for more years than most for things I hold dear and feed my soul. but it isn't Florida, some are disappointed that it isn't the same in some ways.

A recommendation that you may trust today may not work out this year, but in the long run will be more acceptable in years to come when you understand why you want to come back to St Thomas.

More info is needed to help, Vernon. Budget? How many travelers? Any children?

We stayed at Point Pleasant and loved it. Seemed very secluded and quiet and FI is right...the three pools are almost completely secluded. We only saw people there a couple of times. It was nice. We liked to lay on the hammock at night and look at the stars. 🙂
