I was looking for any feedback on the new restaurant that has taken Off the Hook's location?
It had become tradition for dinner the day of arrival and we were sorry to see it close. Would be great if Fish Tails is doing well and has good cuisine?

3 days til takeoff...............

We have been a couple of times. The facility has been completely redone. The menu is much more casual, but the food has been good. I do not know the owners, but friends who are more in the know say they are terrific folks.

Okay, we'll give it a try. Do you recall the menu offering coconut shrimp?

It is a fairly extensive menu emphasizing seafood. Don't recall coconut shrimp exactly, but some sort of shrimp. Shrimp po'boy. Lots of fish, burgers, salads, etc.

We had a group of 7 that ate at Fish Tails early May. Each one of us had something different and each was delicious. Fish was very fresh, salads were crisp and refreshing, service was excellent, pricing reasonable. They have other items on the menu (burgers, chicken, steak) for meatlovers. The view from the dining room is an entertaining view of the dock, boats and water. They have quiet fans that move air around but don't blast the patrons most everywhere in the dining area so even on a day when the wind has layed down (which it was when we were there), you're not dripping with sweat while trying to enjoy your dining experience. The bartender (which may have been the owner) was friendly and welcoming. We got the last parking space in the RedHook terminal parking lot which is just next door to the Fish Tales establishment. Yeah!

I also don't know specifically about coconut shrimp on the menu. However, I would recommend this restaurant and plan on eating there any time I (a Water Islander) have to schedule the big day "in town" to do Home Depot, Cost-U-Less, and other things on our monthly rent-the-van-and-do-the-BIG-shopping day.

We went over Memorial Day weekend. Awful, to sum it up. I ordered stuffed shrimp at my table, it took over 45 minutes and then the stuffing was Burnt! When I complained, the owner came over, asked the problem, said it didn't look burnt to him, took entree away, not asking if I wanted anything else, CHARGED ME for the meal ! Sorry, last time I checked I was the customer, but that obviously didn't matter to him. Stay away, many other lovey places in St Thomas that appreciate your business and earn it honestly!! Hmm, had dinner last night- the fresh catch included queen snapper (? but delicious!), wahoo and rainbow runner. When we were leaving, we saw fresh mahi being carried in (by the tail.) Our dinner was terrific. I am sorry about your visit, Suzy.
