Fishing Gear Rental and Places to Fish in St. John

Is there some place on St. John that rents rods, reels, and bait? Also, are there any good onshore fishing spots, or is it necessary to do a fishing charter? We would rather not do a fishing charter if we can fish onshore. Thanks!

Check with Connections on STJ. They may know. Be aware that there's no spearfishing, etc. in National Park waters and check with them/NPS to see what is and is not allowed.

You can buy fishing gear at Neptune Fishing at American Yacht Harbor which is a short walk from the Red Hook ferry dock.
