There's a white flower that looks like a burst of fireworks (long, very thin petals forming a globe) that was blooming a few months back (don't see any now). I can't find it in my Caribbean flowers book, so maybe someone here can help me identify it. I can't believe I'm the only one who appreciates it. Maybe it's a weed?

Yes, I have a photo, but it's not posted anywhere. I guess I could put it in my Kodak gallery. One more thing to upload, but I'll do it tomorrow.

OK. That wasn't too bad. Now let's see if it works.

It's beautiful !!! I don't know what it IS though ! Sorry I couldn't help, but I loved the photo. (it looked a bit like a snowflake to me, but maybe I'm just homesick)

Looks to me what is referred to locally as "snow on the mountain" which is a beautiful shrub bush.

STT Resident, I don't think it's snow on the mountain - those bloom in Dec/Jan, and I've got photos of those, too. Guess I'll have to show it to someone at maybe UVI or DPNR?

ms411,
Pretty blossom. I have to tell you, I have never seen a blossom like that here in STT, ever! Good Luck on finding it!

Sherri, next time they're in bloom, I'll post so you can come up to Wintberg and see them. Hmm, this just may be the world's most under appreciated flower!

Beautiful flower.....even in a picture. I'm sure it's much more beautiful when seen in person.

Thanks for posting that.

Connie/Sherri, they grow along the road up near me, so I think it's either a wildflower or a weed! I don't think I've ever seen them in anybody's garden. I think they're fascinatingly beautiful (along with the powder puff tree).

ms411,
It is such a beautiful and unusual flower.
I'm not positive...but I think it may be the flower of the Rose Apple, which really isn't an apple at all. I believe it is a member of the Myrtle family....not sure though. I looked it up and read that it grows wild & abundantly, forming solid stands and thickets, in Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guatemala, Honduras and Panama; it also grows in many other locations...

Please let me know if this might be your flower 🙂

Mia - THAT'S IT! Thanks ever so much. How ever did you find it? I'm going to an in-depth look at your links now.
