My wife and I have a chance to go to Curacao in mid-November (we're coming to USVI in Feb). Just wondering if any of you have been there and if you would share your opinion on that destination. Feel free to PM me if you're not comfortable taking up USVI board space for this topic.

We'd be staying at the Hilton. Love the sand, snorkeling, eating at local restaurants. Early to bed so late night entertainment is not important (too old for that stuff now!).

Any opinions would be very much appreciated!

Never have been there, but maybe if you google for some message boards, you'll find some information. There must be a message board out there for it.

Good luck.

I was contemplating a trip to Curacao, and found lots of recommendations on the cruisecritic.com site under Ports of Call. I was really interested in their cooking classes for tourists which I found out about on that board. There were quite a few things mentioned that I didn't see on other Curacao related sites.

Trip Advisor has a forum, you should check that out.

Great advice everyone - thanks.

I have viewed several TripAdvisor and other discussion boards. Looks like Curacao is really nice - and known as a diver's paradise. I don't believe we're going to go.

Why aren't you going to go? I was there several years ago and had a WONDERFUL time. Very friendly locals, fantastic snorkeling, good food - couldn't have asked for more. Cheers!

We are coming to the USVI for 8 days in February, so that's our "big" island vacation. We originally just wanted a long weekend in November to get away and enjoy each others exclusive company (we always seem to go on vacation with others). The Curacao thing came up, but has to be a full week away - Delta Skymiles only works Sunday - Sunday. Even though it looks fabulous, we really don't want to spend a full week. We'll reserve Curacao for another time.

Glad to hear that you loved it - gives me encouragement to consider it again.
