How many forum posters does it take to change a light bulb?*

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed

14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the
light bulb could have been changed differently

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs

6 to argue over whether it's "lightbulb" or "light bulb"

Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid

2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is "lamp"

15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that "light
bulb" is perfectly correct

19 to post that this forum is not about light bulbs and to please take
this discussion to a light bulb forum

11 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light
bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum

36 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to
buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this
technique and what brands are faulty

5 People to post pics of their own light bulbs

15 People to post "I can't see S$%^!" and their own light bulbs

7 to post URL's where one can see examples of different light bulbs

4 to post that the URL's were posted incorrectly and then post the
corrected URL's

13 to link all posts to date, quote them in their entirety including all
headers and signatures, and add "Me too"

5 to post to the group that they will no longer post because they cannot
handle the light bulb controversy

4 to say "Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?"

13 to say "Do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about
light bulbs"

1 to bring politics into the discussion by adding that George W. isn't
the brightest bulb.

4 more to get into personal attacks over their political views.

1 moderator to lock the light bulb thread.

1 forum lurker to respond to the original post 6 months from now and
start it all over again.

Blu: I purse my lips because I'm English and it's something we learn to do very early in life. I can also look down my nose rather well for the same reason (and my proboscis is of the ideal length for this maneuver.) I should also add that I suck my teeth very well and very discretely when the occasion demands. Both pursing and sucking teeth are also a by-product of genip-sucking.

You're confused? Then you should join a certain former forum contributor whose name shall remain unwritten (for the sake of good order and protocol, etc.) who went to join another forum because of perpetual confusion coupled with a smidgeon of paranoia.

Becky hasn't bailed. She had to go refill her glass and then take a snooze. And, EL, if you could only read some of Becky's "other stuff!" She has me rolling on the floor and I think she is missing her calling! Cheers everyone - and goodnight!

I always thought teeth sucking was only used to keep them in your mouth.

Oh, yes Tart. I recall seeing you do that. You do have a lovely nose - perfect for gazing down upon.

Conch, it isn't polite to draw attention to those of us with loose teeth. Sucking them in to keep them in place is perfectly acceptable. Our "teeth sucking friends" on STT and STJ have made this a fine alternative to a visit to the dentist (I have encountered a few).

LLBL could use some loose teeth right about now - or missing teeth. Would make her deed a bit easier.

Again, where is Promo?

I think LLBL should be careful she doesn't swallow them.

Promo, is probably eating his dinner at, "Taco and Tango".
It is after all, Wednesday nite.
It takes a lot of skill to chew while holding a rose stem in your mouth. He's
been practicing for months now.

Oh, Promo's Wednesday night out? I forgot it was Wednesday. He's 3 hrs behind - 7pm there.

After the surgery, I don't blame him. Show it off, Promo!

Hey BeckyR,

Thanks for resurrecting the old discussion board joke, "How many forum posters does it take to change a light bulb?" I haven't seen it on a board for years!

dntw8up,

You must be a true posting phenom! You are seeing things go full circle!

Blue,

I understand I really do. 😛

BeckyR,

There is this t.v. show called 'Last Comic Standing' I'd vote for you if you decide to go for it!!!

Why do I feel like I am at the bar and half drunk? This conversation is too much! Thanks for the laughs ya'll.

Teresa

I've had it. I've had enough of all of you. I'm never going to post here again.

P.S.---you may wonder why I've posted that I'm never going to post again rather than just never posting again. Well, that wouldn't be very dramatic, would it?

I know that I said I was never going to post here again, under any circumstances, no matter what....but....

....just in case anyone didn't get my drift, I was hoping to make you all feel bad or guilty or generally ashamed of yourselves and wish that you had agreed with me and treated me better because now you'll be sorry, particularly if I pop up on some other forum where I have lots of "friends" and am having "fun".

I didn't want to just vanish and take the chance that I wouldn't be missed and no one would feel bad.

Now I'm really never going to post here again. I'll probably retire the "Weary" name (not my real name), but you might recognize me on some other forum hanging out and having "fun" with my new forum "friends" because I'll be posting this funny "How many forum posters.."piece and probably taking credit for it.

's okay if you steal it, weary.....I stole it, too, and almost made off with it until a certain poster called me out.....now my life as a comedian is gone, gone before my very eyes, so this forum will be my downfall as human being and I'll live in a refrigerator box under the bridge because no one would accept me for who I am....but you see, if I express myself in my truest fashion I could get banned for not being politically correct, so I have to resort to plagiarized material and opinions just to get by. My psyche is damaged and I need real help, so I reach out through cyberspace to plead for your assistance and understanding and ask you all to give peas a chance.....oops, another plagiarism....dang. Dr. Phil hasn't returned my call yet...could someone find Mell?

If you could see me now - and I'm sure that Island Ed has a picture of poor, poor pitiful me, but ... well, if you'll remember, 93.2% of the forum members couldn't agree on Ed's pictures. 46.2% approved. 22.7% disapproved. Well, actually only one person disapproved, but some others got on that bandwagon because she wasa their friend, making the wagon damn near tip over. 13.9% thought Promoguy should be banned for teaching Ed to post pictures. 16.6% couldn't have cared less, they skipped over whatever they didn't want to read or see........and the rest of the gang was pulling leftover genip pulp from their teeth and had no clue that there was a problem until they peeked in for their bi-yearly check, at which point they claimed moral offense and banning.....and that little miniscule group apparently won several times in a row. And by the way, those are my own stats and I DID make them up....do I get to claim them?

I thought it was funny and appropriate, it drifted across my desk, and I stole it and posted it - but I never said I was the author! There goes that danged dntw8up calling me out again! 🙂 So I'm going to ding you and give you negative rep points for calling out a moderator - oh, wait.....I'm not a moderator on this forum....does that matter? And we don't get rep points, we just get to stay or go based on the Mood of the Moment.....so hard to make that mental switch....
