We will be staying at the Marriott and the internet fee is pretty steep for the little bit of time that we would use it. Is there anywhere nearby that offers free internet access/computers?

By nearby do you mean within walking distance? If so, no. Several places in Havensight have free WiFi with a meal purchase.

Somewhere that is as close as possible, but we will rent a car to get around a bit. Just as long as it's fairly easy to find. Can you recommend the food in any of the places in Havensight ? Thank you

A good place for WiFi, coffee, breakfast, lunch is Barefoot Buddha across from Havensight. They do a lot of whole grain and organic. Mono's, an outdoor bar with very limited menu, has some awesome bbq chicken. For good pizza, go to Pizza More across from Havensight. Try their rum cake! For Spanish/Caribbean food try Rancho Latino across from Puerto. For more fine dining, try Yacht Haven Grande.

Good suggestion but that's a LONG way from the Marriott!

If you have a car and are going to head over towards the east end, Molly Molones and Big Bambooz in Redhook both have free wifi if you are eating/drinking there.
