I'll be staying at the Elysian and I think some rooms have WIFI at an additional charge I was wondering if I couldn't connect from my hotel are there any places like a coffee shop or snack shop that have free WIFI?

Also if anybody could provide a "review" of the Elysian that'd be great too.

I don't think there's a free hot spot near the Elysian, but there are some in town and in Havensight. I think I've seen one on the East End near the Red Hook ferry, but not 100% sure about that. Most people don't want to carry a laptop around, so they go to an Internet Cafe and spend the few bucks to get online, and sync to a flash drive if need be.

I hope the WiFi is better at the Elysian than it is at Bluebeard's Beach Club. I am currently nearly on top of the ant. and the connection I paid for is slower than the free sites I find back home.

Crisaxman,

We've owned timeshare at the Elysian since 1999, and have enjoyed going back every year for a two week vacation. Our room is a "King Studio" which is basically a large hotel type room with, a small fridge, toaster, coffee maker, microwave, dishes, glasses, cups, et.,. If your in a timeshare room be aware that you will only have maid service once per week (Wednesday) so if you have any extra towels hang on to them. The buildings are on a hill side so going to the beach or restaurants will require some up hill climbing, great work out, if we're out we usually just drive down (lazy huh).

Over all it's a very comfortable and functional room, we're not the type that the room will "make or break" our vacation, after all we are on STT to enjoy the island not the room.

The two restaurant's on property are, Roberts all American Grille, www.robertsamericangrille.com, and Ainsley's Beachside Cafe. Roberts is more up-scale with a great menu, we have not been disappointed with any menu item (She-Crab soup is a must). There is also a Piano bar with live entertainment which is always a fun evening. The bartender, Page, is probably one of the best bartenders on STT, be sure to try his frozen drinks :@)

Ainsley's is on the beach, it opened last year while we were on vacation. We only went there 2-3 times but the food was very good. We ordered the pizza (two in one night actually). Great place to hang out.

The owners of Robert's and Ainsley's, Keven and Laura, are great people and take the hands on approach to their business, and it shows in the quality of the meals and the attitude of their staff.

The beach meets our requirements....sand and water (we're really not "beach people" ). It's a nice beach with palms and sea-grape trees for shade, beach chairs and lounges. Snorkeling isn't bad on the left side of the beach along the break wall.
There is also a pool on the property which also very nice (we're really not "pool people" either) with a hot tub off to the side.

Enjoy your stay on STT and at the Elysian.
