Being up in Minnesota I have a need for some real seafood.
So I need to make a list of the places to try some fresh seafood (all ready cooked that is).
Name the restaurant and the type of seafood is best to order.
Thanks

Pulled this off another site, as I like the way the guy described it...but get the "Ole Wife" at Uncle Buddy's on Coki Beach...Fantastic lunch!

COKI BEACH--If you are really brave and not prissy in any way shape or form---then go to Coki Beach and seek out UNCLE BUDDY'S. It's an old shack right on the beach and you can throw a rock into the water from your seat. UNCLE BUDDY has been there for years---like more then the 7 I've lived here---and he makes the BEST LOCAL FISH on ISLAND.
It's not on the menu, which is an old peeling laminated paper sheet, by the way---but look for the guy who's cooking---9 out of 10 times, it's UNCLE BUDDY himself. Ask him what today's fish is (it's all fresh) and then order one that sounds the best to you (it doesn't matter, they are all excellent).

When it comes up, you'll have a Styrofoam plate piled high with rice & beans, fresh sauteed plantains, a salad and a whole fish with the head on. Don't let this freak you out. Use your fork and flake off the side meat and you'll have the best fish you've ever had. Watch for bones! Also, make sure you ask buddy for a side of "gravy" which is a light Caribbean tomato gravy with sauteed onions on it. This might be the best "real" Caribbean meal in St Thomas.

I was just there yesterday, by the way. Oh, and the cost? Around $15 for the whole thing.
Wear your suit and enjoy the beach and the sun afterwards...and don't forget the Presidente Beer or Corona to go with this masterpiece!

There are 2 dishes that deserve a try on St Thomas 'IMHO'

Boiled Oldwife w 1/2 rice 1/2 fungi at Victors Hideout
Almond Crusted Yellowtail at Hook Line Sinker

When anyone visits I make sure they try these.

Victors Hideout is accessed by the road on the left after Nisky school but before the airport. last time I sent someone they said they just followed the signs up, but 'felt' lost the whole time until they ended up in the parking lot -- great view over Crown Bay and Water Island from the Hilltop location.
The Yellowtail is Yellowtail Snapper fillet -- the 'old wife' is whole Queen Triggerfish.

Lime Inn in Cruz Bay, STJ, has whole Caribbean lobsters that are consistently good.
